The Colombo International Tea Convention is happening from the 24th to the 26th July 2024 in Colombo, Sri Lanka, gathering leaders and decision makers from across the global tea value chain for insightful conversation, inspiring dialogue and fresh perspectives on tea.
This year, under the timely theme, "Tea: A Lifestyle and A Livelihood," the event will shine the spotlight on tea in all its forms, as an integral part of cultures and lifestyles across the world, and provoke meaningful dialogue, thinking and action on globally applicable, sustainable solutions to uplift diverse tea communities and tea growing environments.
“The Colombo Tea Traders’ Association celebrates 130 years of bringing the tea industry together in best practices," said Sanjaya Herath, chairman, Colombo Tea Traders Association. "This year, the Colombo International Tea Convention will truly be a milestone event for tea. Leaders of the tea industry, from across the world have confirmed participation. We are excited to co-host this powerful global forum.
The convention will unite global decision makers from the entire tea value chain, from crop to cup; with producer insights from Kenya, Sri Lanka, China and India, market perspectives from Japan, UK, GCC, Middle East, North America, Europe and North Africa, consumer perspectives from the biggest global retailers, analysis from climate experts, innovations of leading brands, and insights from organizations promoting social values.
Convention sessions will explore hard-hitting topics to inspire new thinking that will uplift tea communities, tea environments and tea consumers. With inspiring speakers that are leading and disrupting tea, the event is also a unique opportunity to have authentic experiences of Ceylon Tea and explore the interwoven role of tea in Sri Lanka’s social and economic fabric.
The Colombo International Tea Convention was launched in 1992 by the Colombo Tea Traders’ Association and the Sri Lanka Tea Board, and is a milestone event in the tea calendar. The convention also offers unique opportunities to explore Sri Lanka as a tea country, and as a destination that offers adventure, scenic beauty, wildlife, arts and culture for an unparalleled convention experience.
