Miss India 2016 Runner up, Sushruthi Krishna, shares her experience as a tourist in the pristine island of Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka has a whole plethora of places to visit. My favourite would be the hill station at Ella, which I would recommend all first time travellers to visit. The train rides, the scenic views and the food culture are all wonderful. It makes you feel welcome and one with nature.
Being a vegetarian can be a challenge if you travel internationally. However, Sri Lanka has amazing food to try like coconut sambol, hoppers, curries and so much more! For vegetarians, I would recommend the Ceylon Tea Factory Restaurant.
Five suitcase essentials for me would be running shoes, sun glasses, swimwear, a book and my headphones.
I went on this trip with a group of my best friends. One of the stays we booked was in a hill top hotel with a view of the valley. We could see the waterfalls, the river and a beautiful railway bridge. We had a wonderful evening with great music and good food as we took in the breathtaking view. This would be my perfect travel moment during the trip.
The next place I want to visit is Vietnam and I would really like to cross this off my travel checklist!
